Why Me?

I am a servant leader! I will be open, honest, and authentic to the community and will continue to give of my time and energies to improve Citrus Heights. I look for opportunities to improve the lives of others. Whether doing yard work for seniors in Lakeview Village, clean-ups at Tupelo park and the Stock Ranch Nature Reserve, hosting spaghetti feeds for new San Juan Spartan helmets, or securing resources through donation drives and business partnerships, I have always put the needs of our community first. I have chaired and co-chaired numerous service events through multiple clubs in LIONS District 4-C5 and know how to navigate large teams and their many complications. I have a spirit of unity and believe that community involvement and service to others is vital for city health. I am a mover, shaker, and all around go getter; I will get things done.

Get to Know Your Candidate

Through my LIONS leadership training I have learned how to conduct community need assessments, develop programs that respond to current needs, and partner for greater project success and sustainability. I thrive on finding solutions and helping others. I value the quality of life for our community members. In 2020, I co-designed and implemented a community grocery program in partnership with the Antelope LIONS Club, KFIA Fish Radio, the Pointe Church and my restaurant, Taste of Tuscany, that fed over 10,000 people. This project earned a 2020 ‘Kindness Matters’ service award from LIONS Clubs International; one of only 20 awards given globally.

In 2018, I redesigned and implemented LIONS scholarships at Mesa Verde and San Juan High Schools in Citrus Heights. I developed a community service club at Westside Preparatory Charter School in Sacramento in 2017. Since that same year, I have co-chaired the ‘SOAR serves Seniors’ program in partnership with Meals on Wheels and Citrus Heights Neighborhood Association 10 (SOAR-Sylvan Old Auburn Road). Providing electronic readers, I implemented a reading incentive program at Skycrest Elementary in 2016 which was later carried to Mariposa Elementary. Also at Skycrest elementary, I led the efforts in fundraising for and installing an anti-bullying 'buddy bench.' In 2011, I designed a holiday gift program benefiting children in Center Unified elementary schools annually.

As a mental health advocate, I understand quality of life includes social gathering. Some of my favorite projects are those that bring community together and build lasting memories among Citrus Heights residents. Events such as the Trick or Treat Trail at the Historic Rusch House and Spooktacular Family events at the Citrus Heights Community Clubhouse gave free, safe, fun to residents and took stress away from parents.
